Cedar Point Wind Project is a 252 megawatts (MW) wind energy project to be constructed in Lincoln, Elbert, and Arapahoe counties. The two major components of this project consist of a turbine area and an electrical transmission line. As currently planned, the project would consist of 139 turbines, two onsite project substations, an operations and maintenance building and over 40 miles of overhead transmission line.
The wind turbines will be located in the eastern portion of Elbert County and the western portion of Lincoln County. The turbine area will spread across about 20,000 acres of private property leased by Enbridge for the placement of the turbines and associated facilities.
Cedar Point Wind Project will generate 252MW of electricity, enough clean renewable energy to power approximately 68,000 Colorado homes.
